Holidaying with the little ones in XYZ and looking for a fun way to spend some quality time? Head down to Yeppoon’s Keppel Bay Sailing Club and teach your kids to master the waves with Discover Sailing with Sail Squirts. This four day course is designed for kids between the ages of 6 and 13 and covers the basics of sailing in the wide blue waters of the Pacific. The Causeway Lake will host the event from June 26 to June 29, 2012 from 9 am to 3 pm.
Through this four day fun filled course, your kid can understand the basics of sailing, completing the Basic Skills 1 and Basic Skills 2 courses and earning certificates. Throughout the course, kids will work with real boating equipment to earn practical experience in sailing. If you want your kid to proudly help you out with your yachting expeditions during your time in XYZ, this course is perfect for you. Promising fun filled activities and familiarising your children with sailing, you can now make your kid the co-captain of your mystical ship!
The ‘Junior Learn to Sail’ is a great way to introduce your child to the science and art of sailing the seas. The total cost of the course is set at $289 per child and includes equipment like wet booties, rashies and bucket hats in addition to text books and log books. The course fee will also take care of your child’s club membership for twelve months. If you think you are too late for this event, fret not! You can enrol with the club for the next course held from July 2 to July 5, 2012.
With Keppel Bay Sailing Club’s sailing events like Discover Sailing with Sail Squirts, your vacations in Yeppoon are bound to be exciting for you and your family. One of Yeppoon’s biggest attractions of the year, the annual Mercure Capricorn Resort Ironman 70.3 Yeppoon race is back with more competitors, packing more excitement. If you find yourself admiring the sunny air of Yeppoon this August, stay back for a race worth remembering!
Each year, hundreds and thousands of competitors find their way to Yeppoon to participate in the triathlon. This year’s event is set to attract over a thousand competitors from all parts of Australia and worldwide and is planned by X-Tri Events. The athletes will be accompanied by their family and sea of supporters who will arrive in Yeppoon by the dozen! You can easily participate in the festivities of the Mercure Capricorn Resort Ironman 70.3 Yeppoon triathlon at the international course readied at the Capricorn Resort.
The 2012 event will be held on August 19 and will include a 1.9 kilometre swim continued by a 90 km biking race and concluding with a 21.1 km run to the finish line. The swim will be organised in sheltered ocean waters close to the resort’s beach while the bike course will comprise of five laps around the resort to the main city of Yeppoon. The final leg of the triathlon comprises of a half marathon set in the resort grounds.
